The postponed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations have been officially cancelled following intense student protests. The method for determining final results will be decided later, according to Prof. Tapan Kumar Sarkar, chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
Earlier on Tuesday, large groups of students gathered at the Secretariat, home to the Ministry of Education, demanding an “auto-pass” and the cancellation of the postponed exams. The students proposed that results be calculated based on already completed exams, with postponed subjects being mapped to corresponding SSC subjects. Their demands were eventually met, leading to the cancellation of the remaining HSC exams.
