The interim government has announced its decision to remove all deputy commissioners (DCs) across the country by Tuesday, with new appointments expected to follow shortly after.
Sources reveal that the government plans to bring in five officials, who were previously overlooked, to assist in the selection of the new DCs. The officials include Nurjahan Khanam and Nazrul Islam from the 24th BCS batch, Nurul Karim Bhuiyan and Farida Khanam from the 25th batch, and Sarwar Alam from the 27th batch.
Reports also indicate that several current DCs have expressed unwillingness to continue in their roles due to the ongoing situation, prompting discussions with senior officials about their withdrawal from field administration. As a result, the government has decided to remove all existing DCs.
