Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud announced plans to establish Bangladesh’s first national sports institute, aimed at enhancing athletes’ performance and creating alternative income opportunities. The announcement was made during a press conference at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Sunday.
Mahmud emphasized that discussions are ongoing regarding the institute’s development and assured that further details will be shared soon. He also highlighted plans to investigate corruption and irregularities within various sports federations, including the Bangladesh Cricket Board and the Bangladesh Football Federation, with actions promised against those found guilty.
