The undergraduate first-year classes for the 2023-24 academic year at General and Science and Technology (GST) universities will begin on September 1. Students on the third-phase merit list must confirm their provisional admission through the GST website on August 19 and 20, without needing to visit the university.
This was announced on Saturday through a press release, following the 18th meeting of the GST Integrated Admission Test Committee, chaired by Professor Dr. Md Anwar Hossain, Vice-Chancellor of Jessore University of Science and Technology.
The committee meeting also included prayers for the peace of students who lost their lives in recent protests, and well-wishes for those injured. The interim government, led by Nobel laureate Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, was congratulated for its formation following the previous government’s fall on August 5.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) had earlier urged the GST committee to expedite the remaining admission activities to avoid disruptions for aspiring students. In response, the committee confirmed that students on the third-phase merit list can secure their initial admission by paying a Tk5,000 fee online between 12pm on August 19 and 12pm on August 20.
Final admission, including document submission and final fee payment, will be completed once university offices fully resume operations. Detailed information about the admission process is available on the GST website gstadmission.ac.bd.
