Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet) will resume all graduation and post-graduation classes on August 24. Prior to this, the university’s residential halls will reopen on Tuesday, as per a press release issued by Ruet on Saturday.
Students are required to carry their identity cards at all times while on campus and have been instructed to refrain from any political activities. Earlier, on August 10, Ruet imposed a ban on all forms of campus politics until further notice.
The decision was made during the 105th meeting of the university’s syndicate, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof Jahangir Alam. The press release emphasized that no teacher, officer, or employee is allowed to engage in any political organization, with disciplinary actions planned for those who violate this directive.
Additionally, the ban on student politics within the campus remains in effect, and strict disciplinary measures will be enforced against anyone disobeying the order.
