BAPEX Discovers Gas in Four Layers at Noakhali’s Sonaimuri Well

The Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company (BAPEX) has successfully discovered gas in four layers while drilling the Begumganj-4 (West) valuation well in Sonaimuri upazila, Noakhali. Md Asaduzzaman, the official overseeing the drilling process, confirmed the discovery on Tuesday. The drilling, which commenced on April 29, was completed ahead of schedule. BAPEX will now conduct tests on each layer to assess the gas reserves. Officials are optimistic about sharing “good news with the nation” once the testing is finalized.
