Farooq-e-Azam was officially sworn in as an adviser to the interim government under the leadership of Professor Muhammad Yunus. The oath was administered by President Mohammed Shahabuddin at the Bangabhaban on Tuesday morning at 11am. Farooq-e-Azam, a decorated freedom fighter and recipient of the Bir Pratik award, recently returned to Bangladesh from the United States on Sunday night.
This ceremony follows the swearing-in of Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar and Supradeep Chakma, who took their oaths on Sunday. Farooq-e-Azam’s appointment is a significant addition to the interim government’s advisory team.
