Dhaka’s metro rail service will resume operations on August 17, nearly a month after being suspended. The trains will bypass the damaged stations at Mirpur 10 and Kazipara, which were vandalized during the recent student movement that led to the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government.
The interim government’s advisory council made the decision on Sunday. Trains will not stop at the two damaged stations until repairs are completed.
Metro rail services were suspended on July 18 amid student demonstrations demanding quota reform in public service.
