Italy, Germany, Greece, and Romania, four European Union countries, will employ 3,000 Bangladeshi workers. Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud shared this news with reporters on Sunday, following a meeting with European Union Ambassador to Dhaka, Charles Whiteley, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Foreign Minister stated that the EU may consider hiring more Bangladeshi workers in the future, depending on the performance of these initial 3,000 workers.
Discussions also touched on Bangladesh’s economic progress. Bangladesh is set to transition from a least-developed country to a middle-income country by 2026. Additionally, the Foreign Minister mentioned that the EU will continue providing trade benefits to Bangladesh until 2032.
