The repair and commissioning of gas in the 42-inch diameter Anwara-Faujdarhat pipeline of GTCL have been successfully completed as of 7:20 am on Friday. The gas supply is expected to normalize by the afternoon, with transmission and pressure gradually increasing in coordination with LNG supply and the current gas grid pressure of 70 PSI.
The pipeline, located between Karnaphuli Tunnel and KAFCO, was damaged in an accident at 5 pm on July 9. State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has ordered the creation of a comprehensive pipeline map to prevent future incidents, apologizing to customers for the inconvenience caused by this unexpected event.
