One more death from dengue was reported in the past 24 hours until Monday morning, bringing the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 45 this year.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 51 new dengue patients were hospitalized during this period. Currently, 218 patients are receiving treatment at various hospitals nationwide.
Since January 1, 2024, a total of 3,702 dengue cases have been reported. Last year marked the deadliest year on record for dengue in Bangladesh, with 1,705 deaths and 321,179 reported cases. Of those, 318,749 patients recovered, as per DGHS records.
