Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel announced that the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams will commence in April 2025. He made this announcement at a press conference held at the International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka on Sunday evening, following the first day of the 2024 HSC exams.
The Minister mentioned that efforts are underway to conduct the HSC exams within a shorter timeframe starting in 2026. The 2024 HSC and equivalent exams began on Sunday, although exams for the Sylhet Education Board were postponed due to natural calamities.
Traditionally, HSC and equivalent exams start in the first week of April each year. However, the schedule was disrupted in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, leading to delays aimed at bridging the learning gap. The Minister expressed confidence that the exams could return to the usual schedule in the upcoming year.
