The 2024 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations are set to begin on Sunday, excluding the Sylhet division.
This year’s exams will follow a revised syllabus and specific guidelines issued by the education boards. Here are the 11 rules examinees must follow:
- Arrival Time: Candidates must be seated in the exam hall at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
- Exam Structure: The exam will start with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) followed by a written (creative/theoretical) section.
- Timing for MCQs: MCQs will have 30 minutes for 30 marks.
- Timing for Written Section: The creative section will have 2 hours and 30 minutes for 70 marks.
- Practical Exam Subjects: Subjects with practical exams will have 25 minutes for 25 marks for MCQs and 2 hours and 35 minutes for 50 marks for the written section.
- Continuous Exams: Exams will run continuously without breaks until completion, as indicated on the question papers.
- Admit Cards: Admit cards must be collected from the respective school heads.
- OMR Sheets: OMR sheets must be filled out carefully, ensuring accurate details without folding the answer sheets.
- Passing Criteria: Candidates must pass the theoretical, MCQ, and practical exams separately.
- Exam Restrictions: Candidates are required to take only the exams listed on their registration and admit cards and are prohibited from sitting for any other subjects.
- Prohibited Items: Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in exam halls, and only non-programmable scientific calculators are allowed.
These guidelines aim to ensure the smooth conduct and integrity of the examinations across all centers.
In the Sylhet division, the government has postponed the exams until July 8 due to flooding. The schedule for the postponed examinations, now scheduled for July 9, will be notified later through a notification.
