Trains traveling from Dhaka to the western districts will not make stops at Dhaka Airport Railway Station during Eid-ul-Azha to maintain schedules and prevent delays.
This decision, outlined in Bangladesh Railway’s Eid-ul-Azha work plan, affects all trains from the western region to Dhaka starting Wednesday until the day before Eid.
Notable trains, including Sundarban, Madhumati, Benapole Express, Nakshi Katha, and Chandana commuter trains, will commence their journeys from Dhaka Railway Station.
To streamline travel for ticket holders, no inter-zonal intercity train tickets will be issued between Joydebpur, Dhaka Airport Station, and Dhaka Station during this period.
Additionally, saloon coaches will not be added to trains for ten days before and ten days after Eid.
Enhanced security measures will be in place with round-the-clock surveillance by law enforcement at major stations, including Dhaka, Airport, Joydebpur, Chittagong, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Rajshahi, and Khulna. Mobile courts, supported by district administrators, will also be active.
Railway police and employees will intensify their efforts to prevent vandalism on trains, at stations, and along railway lines, with support from RAB, BGB, local police, and other law enforcement agencies.
