Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Nowfel announced that the HSC and equivalent exams in Sylhet’s flood-hit areas will be held later.
During a press briefing at the Secretariat on Wednesday, following a meeting of the National Monitoring and Law and Order Committee, the minister addressed the plans to conduct the upcoming HSC and equivalent examinations in a fair, copying-free environment.
“We are aware of the weather forecast during the HSC examination period and the water levels of various rivers in Sylhet. We have made necessary preparations considering students’ movements,” the minister stated.
He added that exams in potentially flood-affected areas will not be conducted initially, assuring that proper arrangements are in place to reschedule those exams later. “The convenience of the examinees is our top priority. We do not want them to suffer or for their desired results to be negatively impacted,” he emphasized.
This year’s HSC and equivalent exams are scheduled to begin on June 30, with 14,50,790 students from nine General Education Boards, Madrasa Board, and Technical Board taking the exams across 2,275 centers from 9,463 educational institutions.
