Dhaka University has emerged as the highest-ranked Bangladeshi university in the QS World University Rankings 2025, securing the 554th position. This marks a significant improvement from last year’s 691-700 bracket.
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) and North South University (NSU) followed, ranking second and third among Bangladeshi institutions, respectively.
The 2025 ranking is the most extensive to date, featuring over 1,500 universities from 105 higher education systems worldwide.
The United States leads with 197 ranked institutions, followed by the United Kingdom with 90 and mainland China with 71.
For the 13th consecutive year, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) holds the top spot. Imperial College London has risen to second place, while the University of Oxford and Harvard University rank third and fourth. The University of Cambridge completes the top five.
