Skydiver Ashik Chowdhury has attempted a record-breaking jump from 41,000 feet to set a new Guinness World Record. At a press conference last week, Chowdhury announced his scheduled jump for Saturday, expressing his passion for adventure and his desire to put Bangladesh on the map. Holding a flag during the jump to add complexity due to aerodynamics, Chowdhury aimed to achieve “The Highest Ever Skydive with a Flag.” The 40-year-old career banker and seasoned skydiver, who has completed 30 jumps since 2012, performed the feat at an airfield in the United States due to the need for specialized aircraft and favorable weather conditions. Raised in Jessore by a pilot father, Chowdhury has long harbored an adventurous spirit. While the highest jumps were made from space by Felix Baumgartner and Alan Eustace, Chowdhury’s 41,000 feet jump challenges the upper limits of commercial aircraft capabilities.
