The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has announced a reduction in gold prices, effective Friday.
The price of 22-carat gold has decreased by Tk1,085 per bhori, setting the new rate at Tk1,18,459 per bhori (11.664 grams), down from the previous Tk1,19,544.
This update was detailed in a press release signed by Masudur Rahman, chairman of the Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee of Bajus, on Thursday. Bajus attributed the price drop to a decrease in the local market price of acid gold, adjusting the rates accordingly.
According to the revised prices, 22-carat gold now costs Tk1,18,459 per bhori, 21-carat gold is priced at Tk1,13,082, and 18-carat gold is Tk96,927. Traditional gold is now priced at Tk80,131 per bhori.
While gold prices have seen a reduction, silver prices remain unchanged. Currently, 22-carat silver is priced at Tk2,100, 21-carat at Tk2,006, 18-carat at Tk1,715, and traditional silver at Tk1,283 per bhori.
