The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) is exploring the possibility of extending metro rail services to Fridays, responding to heightened passenger demand even on weekends. As a recent addition to the city’s transport network, the metro rail has garnered significant interest from commuters. Currently operating six days a week, discussions within DMTCL suggest a potential shift to a seven-day service model starting July. Despite initial denials from officials, plans to reduce headways during peak hours and expand the workforce signal the organization’s proactive approach to address increasing passenger traffic and enhance service efficiency.
