Natore’s district administration has earmarked May 25 as the kickoff date for mango harvesting and marketing, starting with the delectable Gopalbhog variety this year. Deputy Commissioner Abu Naser Bhuiya confirmed that the harvesting of Gopalbhog mangoes will commence on the specified date, as decided during a meeting at the DC office.
The harvesting schedule also includes Ranipasand mangoes starting from May 30, Khirsapati from June 5, Laxmanbhog or Lakhna from June 12, Lengra from June 20, Mohonbhog from June 25, and Amrapali and Haribhanga from June 25 to August 20, as outlined by the DC.
Additionally, the harvesting timeline for Mozaffar variety litchi is set for May 20, followed by Bombay litchi or China-3 on May 27.
This year, Natore has dedicated a total of 4,500 hectares of land for mango cultivation and 1,000 hectares for litchi cultivation, promising a fruitful season ahead for farmers and enthusiasts alike.
