Amid the scorching heatwave gripping the nation, the Power Division has issued crucial guidelines aimed at ensuring uninterrupted power supply. Commercial establishments, including shopping malls, have been instructed to close by 8 pm, with air conditioning temperatures capped at 25°C. A circular issued on Monday outlines these measures, alongside directives to prevent illegal charging of easy-bikes and motorized rickshaws.
Despite significant strides in the power sector over the past 15 years, the circular notes a surge in electricity demand due to the current crisis. To mitigate this strain, shops, malls, petrol pumps, and CNG stations are urged to minimize the use of extra lights to reduce electricity consumption. Additionally, all stakeholders are encouraged to adopt energy-efficient practices.
