In a landmark decision, the High Court has mandated the formulation of a comprehensive transfer policy for teachers employed in private educational institutions operating under the Monthly Pay Order (MPO) scheme nationwide, within a strict timeline of three months. Under the court’s directive, key stakeholders, including the Secretary of the Ministry of Education and other relevant defendants, are tasked with crafting the transfer policy to ensure equitable and transparent procedures for teacher transfers. The ruling, handed down by the High Court bench led by Justice Naima Haider and Justice Kazi Zinat Hoque, follows a writ petition submitted by over 100 teachers from MPO-affiliated educational institutions across various districts of the country. Advocate Mohammad Siddique Ullah Mia, representing the writ petitioners, confirmed that the court’s decision fulfills the longstanding aspirations and demands of MPO teachers, signaling a significant step forward in addressing their concerns and ensuring fair treatment within the education sector.
