In a significant downturn, the price of gold has plummeted by Tk8,176 over the past 10 days, marking the sixth consecutive reduction as declared by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) on Monday. The price adjustment reflects a Tk1,155 decrease per bhori for 22-carat gold, with the new rate set at TK1,11,461 per bhori compared to the previous Tk1,12,615. Masudur Rahman, chairman of Bajus’s Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee, confirmed the revised rates via a press release, citing an assessment of the overall economic landscape. The updated prices are effective from 4 p.m. on Monday. This price revision comes after a series of reductions on April 23, 24, 25, 27, and 28, following three consecutive increases earlier in the month on April 6, 8, and 18.
