In another significant move, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has announced the 10th reduction in gold prices, bringing relief to buyers. The price of 22-carat gold has seen a notable drop of Tk315 per bhori, reflecting current market trends. Following this adjustment, the price for one bhori (11.664 grams) of premium 22-carat gold now stands at Tk1,12,615, down from the previous Tk1,12,931. Masudur Rahman, chairman of the Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee of Bajus, confirmed this update in a press release issued on Sunday. In just five days, the price of gold has witnessed a cumulative decrease of Tk6,813, attributed partly to a decline in acid gold prices in the local market. The association has calibrated the new prices considering the prevailing market dynamics. Under the revised rates, the prices for other gold categories are as follows: 21-carat gold at Tk1,7,495, 18-carat at Tk92,145, and traditional gold at Tk76,632. Meanwhile, despite fluctuations in the gold market, the price of silver remains unchanged. Presently, the rates stand at Tk2,100 for 22-carat silver, Tk2,006 for 21-carat, Tk1,715 for 18-carat, and Tk1,283 for traditional silver. This latest adjustment reflects ongoing efforts to align gold prices with market realities, offering consumers more transparency and affordability in their purchases.
