State Minister for Education, Begum Shamsun Nahar Chapa, has instructed educational institutions to adhere to a maximum class capacity of 55 students under the new curriculum guidelines.
The directive was issued during the inauguration of a two-day orientation workshop on “New Curriculum Development, Monitoring, and Mentoring” held on Thursday, organized by officials from various educational bodies.
Addressing the attendees, State Minister Begum Shamsun Nahar Chapa acknowledged the challenges associated with implementing the new curriculum, citing teacher shortages and potential disparities in teacher-student ratios.
She commended the efforts of the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) in addressing teacher shortages and stressed the importance of maintaining a class size limit of 55 students per class.
The state minister assured that measures are being taken to enforce this limit, with plans to tackle associated challenges gradually. She emphasized the need for collective efforts to ensure the effective implementation of the new curriculum, suggesting alignment of educational administration responsibilities with evolving educational needs.
The orientation workshop aimed to raise awareness among officers about their roles and responsibilities in curriculum implementation, with a focus on addressing financial constraints. The state minister assured increased budgetary allocations for education and encouraged stakeholders to promptly address concerns regarding evaluation methods and parental worries about higher education prospects.
She urged collective engagement in realizing the vision of the new curriculum and emphasized the importance of swiftly resolving any arising issues.
