The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has once again lowered gold prices, marking the third consecutive day of reductions.
The price of 22-carat gold has seen a significant drop of Tk630 per bhori.
As per the latest adjustment, the cost of one bhori (11.664 grams) of premium 22-carat gold now stands at Tk1,13,560, down from Tk1,14,190 previously.
This update was communicated through a press release signed by Masudur Rahman, chairman of BAJUS’s Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee, on Thursday.
BAJUS mentioned that the local market’s acid gold prices have experienced a decline, prompting the adjustment in prices to reflect the overall scenario.
The revised prices will come into effect from 4:50 pm on Thursday, marking the eighth alteration in gold prices by the apex body of gold traders during April.
Under the latest pricing scheme, 21-carat gold will be priced at Tk1,08,405, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk92,915. Traditional gold will be available at Tk74,801.
In the preceding adjustments, BAJUS had reduced gold prices by Tk2,100 on Wednesday and Tk3,138 on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the price of silver remains unchanged amidst these fluctuations.
