In a significant move, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court welcomed three new judges, as President Mohammed Shahabuddin executed the appointments as per Article 95 (1) of the Constitution.
These appointments mark an elevation from the High Court Division to the esteemed Appellate Division, as confirmed by a gazette notification released for the purpose. The effective commencement of their duties will align with the date of their oath-taking ceremony.
The appointed apex court judges, namely Justice Muhammad Abdul Hafiz, Justice Md Shahinur Islam, and Justice Kashefa Hussain, are poised to contribute their expertise to the judiciary.
With these latest additions, the tally of judges at the Appellate Division escalates to eight, signifying a reinforcement of the highest judicial echelon in the country.
