In a swift move, the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (Bajus) has yet again revised gold prices within just 24 hours, marking a significant drop.
The latest adjustment sees a reduction of Tk2,500 per bhori, signaling a notable shift in the market. As per the new rates, one bhori (11.664 grams) of premium 22-carat gold is now priced at Tk1,14,190, down from Tk1,16,290 previously.
Effective from 4:50 pm on Wednesday, this alteration marks the seventh change in gold prices by the apex body of gold traders in April alone.
Masudur Rahman, Chairman of Bajus’s Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee, formally announced the price cut through a notification.
The updated rates also include Tk1,09,000 per bhori for 21-carat gold, Tk93,428 per bhori for 18-carat gold, and Tk75,209 per bhori for gold priced by the traditional method.
Despite the downward trend in gold prices, silver rates remain unchanged. Presently, 22-carat silver is priced at Tk2,100, 21-carat at Tk2,006, 18-carat at Tk1,715, and traditional silver at Tk1,283, as per their respective categories.
