In a significant move, the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (Bajus) has announced a substantial reduction in gold prices, marking a notable shift in the market.
Key Details of the Price Drop
Bajus has lowered gold prices by Tk3,138 per bhori, reflecting a notable decrease in the cost of the precious metal.
Under the new pricing structure, the rate for one bhori (equivalent to 11.664 grams) of premium 22-carat gold now stands at Tk1,16,290. This adjustment comes in contrast to the previous rate of Tk1,19,428 per bhori.
This decision marks the sixth alteration in gold prices by Bajus within the month of April alone, showcasing the dynamic nature of the market.
The revised gold prices came into effect from 4 p.m. on Tuesday, as confirmed by Bajus.

Masudur Rahman, Chairman of the Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee of Bajus, issued an official notification regarding the price adjustment, emphasizing the association’s commitment to transparency and market responsiveness.
