Bangladesh marks a historic moment in its energy sector, hitting a new peak in electricity production with a staggering 16,233 megawatts (MW) generated at 9pm on Monday.
Mir Mohammad Aslam Uddin, the Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, confirmed this significant milestone through a press release.
The announcement comes amidst a severe heatwave gripping the nation, underscoring the crucial efforts of the power sector to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for the well-being of the public.
This achievement surpasses the previous record of 15,666MW, set just a day before on Sunday.
