The Bangladesh Meteorological Department issues a concerning update as a very severe heatwave tightens its grip on Pabna and Chuadanga districts. Additionally, Rajshahi, Tangail, Jessore, and Kushtia districts are experiencing severe heat, while Rangpur, Barisal, and Mymensingh divisions, along with parts of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Srimangal, and Chandpur districts, are facing mild to moderate heat waves, according to a recent bulletin.
The scorching temperatures are expected to persist with no significant change forecasted for the next five days from 9 am on Monday. Chuadanga recorded the country’s highest temperature at 42.2°C on Sunday, accompanied by 56mm of rainfall within 24 hours until 6 am on Monday.
The forecast suggests the likelihood of rain or thundershowers, potentially accompanied by gusty winds or hail in isolated areas of Mymensingh, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions. However, most parts of the country are expected to remain dry with occasional partly cloudy skies.
While the day temperature may see a slight decrease, night temperatures are anticipated to remain stable. Nevertheless, discomfort may persist due to increased moisture levels. Stay tuned for further updates and take necessary precautions to beat the heatwave.
