In response to the ongoing heatwave posing health risks across the nation, Barisal University (BU) has swiftly transitioned to online classes from April 22 to April 30. This proactive measure aims to safeguard students and faculty from potential heat-related ailments, particularly heatstroke.
Announcing the decision, Faisal Mahmud, Deputy Director of BU’s Public Relations Office, highlighted the university’s commitment to prioritizing student well-being. The move follows an emergency meeting of the university syndicate chaired by BU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Badruzzaman Bhuiyan on Sunday afternoon.
While online classes will proceed as scheduled, all examinations during this period will be conducted on campus to ensure academic continuity and integrity.
Encouraging students to prioritize their health, the university administration advises them to take necessary precautions, including staying indoors within their halls of residence or at home.
This proactive approach underscores BU’s dedication to providing a safe and conducive learning environment amidst challenging weather conditions.
