In a significant move, the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (Bajus) has announced a reduction of Tk841 per bhori in gold prices effective from Saturday. This decision, communicated via a press release by Bajus, comes in response to the decreased local market value of pure gold.
Under the revised pricing structure, the cost for one bhori (equivalent to 11.664 grams) of premium 22-carat gold now stands at Tk118,796. Notably, the price of silver remains unchanged amid these adjustments.
This price revision follows an earlier announcement by Bajus on April 18, when gold prices were raised to Tk2,064 per bhori. The fluctuation in gold prices reflects the dynamic nature of the market, with adjustments made to align with prevailing economic conditions.
Last July marked a significant milestone as the price of gold surpassed Tk100,000 for the first time in Bangladesh, highlighting the evolving landscape of the precious metals market. As Bajus continues to monitor market trends, consumers can anticipate further updates to gold prices to reflect changing market dynamics.
