Following a six-day hiatus for Eid and Pohela Boishakh celebrations, offices, courts, and financial institutions, including banks and stock markets, are gearing up to resume operations come Monday.
As the Eid-ul-Fitr festivities culminated on Thursday, marking the conclusion of the significant Muslim religious observance, holidaymakers are making their way back to the capital.
April 10th, 11th, and 12th witnessed public holidays in observance of Eid, followed by the Bengali New Year’s holiday on April 14th. Additionally, April 13th was a weekly holiday, extending the break till Sunday, April 14th.
Employees have been relishing a prolonged break from April 10th to 14th, but the return to routine is imminent as everyone is set to return to work on Monday.
However, it’s expected that a considerable number of government and private sector workers who traveled outside Dhaka for Eid may opt for additional leave, potentially delaying the full resumption of activities in offices, courts, banks, and the stock market.
Moreover, schools and colleges are scheduled to reopen next week, signaling a return to normalcy for the capital.
Historically, the first working day post-Eid witnesses lower attendance, a trend likely to continue this year.
