In a seamless operation, toll collection on the Padma Bridge reached an impressive Tk1,80,00,450 within a span of 8 hours, from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, at the Mawa checkpoint in Munshiganj and Zajira in Shariatpur.
Amirul Haider Chowdhury, Additional Director of the Padma Bridge Site Office, validated this achievement, highlighting the efficient toll collection process.
During this period, Tk1,13,64,000 was amassed through seven toll booths at the Mawa checkpoint, with a total of 13,886 vehicles crossing the bridge. Among them, 5861 were motorcycles. Similarly, 4,847 vehicles, including 313 motorcycles, passed through the Zajira side, where a designated lane has been allocated for motorcycles, enhancing traffic flow.
Despite some morning traffic congestion, travelers experienced smooth passage across the bridge, underscoring the effective management of Eid travel operations.
