Preparations have culminated for the grand Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the illustrious Gor-e-Shahid Eidgah Maidan, heralded as South Asia’s largest Eidgah ground, nestled in the heart of Dinajpur.
Expectations soar as the country’s largest Eid congregation is slated to grace this sprawling field, welcoming approximately 600,000 worshippers in unison, safeguarded by meticulous security arrangements.
In a bid to facilitate worshippers, two special trains have been commissioned from Thakurgaon and Parbatipur junctions.
Spanning an impressive 22 acres, the Eidgah Maidan boasts a breathtaking architectural marvel—the iconic 50-domed minaret, flanked by towering minarets on either side, standing tall at 60 feet. The central pulpits, towering at 50 and 55 feet respectively, offer a majestic backdrop, spanning a width of 516 feet.
Drawing throngs of admirers daily, this historic site transcends regional boundaries, beckoning worshippers from across the nation to partake in collective prayers. Enthusiastic devotees eagerly anticipate the spiritual experience offered by this revered Eidgah ground.
Assurances of comprehensive security, including five-tiered measures encompassing CCTV surveillance and watch towers, underscore the authorities’ commitment to a seamless Eid-ul-Fitr prayer experience, as echoed by Deputy Commissioner Shakil Ahmed and Superintendent of Police Shah Iftekhar Ahmed.

As the clock ticks towards 9 am, Alhaj Maulana Shamsul Alam Kasemi stands poised to lead the congregation in prayer, perpetuating a cherished tradition at Gor-e-Shahid Eidgah Maidan.
