Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) and Sesame Workshop Bangladesh (SWB), the creators of the renowned children’s educational program “Sisimpur”, have united to champion safe internet practices among children and parents.
Under this collaboration, Sisimpur will spearhead initiatives aimed at educating students and teachers from 100 government primary schools, as part of BTRC’s ‘Digitization of Education in Government Primary Schools in Underserved Areas’ project, emphasizing safe internet usage.
This endeavor falls within the framework of the “Safe Internet for Early Childhood Development” project, supported by the Internet Society Foundation and implemented by Sesame Workshop Bangladesh.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalized on Monday between BTRC and SWB, with Lt Col S M Rezaul Rahman, PSC, and Mohammad Shah Alam signing on behalf of their respective organizations, in the presence of BTRC’s Director General, Brigadier General Mohammad Khalilur Rahman, ndc, psc.
The collaboration aims to cultivate safe internet habits among children aged 3 to 8 and communities in both urban and marginalized areas of Bangladesh, aligning with the nation’s vision of becoming a Smart Bangladesh. This partnership pledges to play a pivotal role in achieving this goal by closely engaging with children, educators, and communities.
