In a bid to facilitate hassle-free journeys for holidaymakers, all types of bulkhead movement will be suspended five days before and after Eid-ul-Fitr.
Md Abdul Alim, Chief of River Police and Additional Inspector General of Police, shared this update during a views exchange meeting on law and order and traffic management on waterways held at Police Plaza in the capital on Wednesday, in anticipation of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festivities.
Special security measures have been implemented from April 3 to 17 to streamline the river journey of homebound individuals, as stated by Abdul Halim. Furthermore, the movement of speedboats will be halted after sunset during this period.
Emphasizing the commitment to passenger safety and convenience, Alim affirmed that river police will be stationed at all ferry terminals and naval terminals to ensure security and seamless journeys.
