Benapole land port recently welcomed another consignment of 300 tons of potatoes imported from India, contributing to a total of 1,000 tons of potatoes imported during Ramadan.
According to Mizanur Rahman, the revenue officer of Benapole Checkpost and Cargo Department, a total of 32 trucks loaded with potatoes arrived at the land port between March 13 and March 24.
The potatoes were imported by Integrated Food and Beverages from India, as confirmed by Masum Billah, the representative of Transmarine Logistic Limited C&F Agent. Billah further stated that the final consignment of potatoes is scheduled to be unloaded on Wednesday.
Rezaul Karim, director of Benapole port, disclosed that 700 tons of potatoes have already been released from the port, indicating a steady flow of imported goods.
