Bangladesh Railway witnessed an unprecedented surge in Eid travel preparations as all advance train tickets for the western region, totaling nearly 16,000 tickets, were completely sold out within just two hours.
As per the schedule, Bangladesh Railway commenced the sale of tickets for April 5 at 8 am on the third day of advance ticket sales. Remarkably, all intercity train tickets were snapped up within the blink of an eye, reflecting the overwhelming demand.
The online platform experienced an immense surge in traffic, recording over 9.5 million hits, indicating the massive interest in securing tickets for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr journey.
Mohammad Masud Sarwar, the Manager of Kamalapur Railway Station, confirmed this remarkable feat.
In the midst of this fervor, the sale of tickets for intercity trains in the eastern region was slated to begin at 2 pm. The total number of outgoing train tickets from Dhaka, inclusive of special services for both eastern and western region intercity trains, stands at an impressive 33,500.
