In a bid to facilitate seamless travel experiences for holidaymakers, the government has taken decisive action, announcing a temporary halt to the movement of trucks, vans, and lorries on highways. This restriction will be enforced three days before and three days after Eid-ul-Fitr, ensuring smoother journeys during this festive period.
The announcement came during a meeting at BRTA Bhaban on Thursday morning, presided over by Road Transport and Bridges Minister, Obaidul Quader. Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary, ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, revealed this crucial decision, emphasizing that vehicles transporting daily essentials and emergency medicine would be exempt from these restrictions.
This proactive measure aims to alleviate congestion and facilitate hassle-free travel for Eid celebrants, enhancing the overall travel experience during this joyous occasion.
