Bangladesh Bank is set to kick off the distribution of fresh currency notes ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, commencing from March 31 through various bank channels.
Individuals will have the opportunity to swap old notes for new ones until April 9, excluding weekends and public holidays.
Starting March 31, the central bank’s branches will facilitate the exchange of new notes. Moreover, special arrangements will be made at 80 branches across Dhaka, Gazipur, and Narayanganj for exchanging Tk5, Tk10, Tk20, Tk50, and Tk100 denominations.
Bangladesh Bank has imposed a restriction, permitting individuals to exchange currency for new notes only once.
