A chilling incident unfolded in Bera upazila of Pabna district as at least 15 skeletons mysteriously disappeared from the Notun Bazar Graveyard in Aminpur on Tuesday night.
The shocking discovery was made by locals the following morning, triggering a wave of anguish and disbelief among the families of the deceased. Gathering at the cemetery, distraught relatives demanded swift action and justice for the desecration of their loved ones’ resting places.
Expressing disbelief and concern, Masud Rana, a relative of one of the stolen bodies, voiced the community’s shock, emphasizing the rarity and gravity of such a crime in their vicinity. Demanding urgent intervention from law enforcement, he urged authorities to uncover the truth and apprehend the perpetrators without delay.
Echoing these sentiments, Zahid Hasan, another aggrieved relative, lamented the perceived lack of safety, even for the departed souls. The brazen theft of skeletons has further shattered the sense of security within the community, prompting calls for immediate action and accountability.
Confirming the distressing incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Harun-ur-Rashid of Aminpur police station revealed that miscreants clandestinely dug up a grave under the cover of night, perpetrating the shocking act. Assuring ongoing investigation, he vowed to leave no stone unturned in pursuit of justice.
