Dhaka residents welcomed a respite from the sweltering heat on Tuesday afternoon as scattered rainfall and gusty winds brought a drop in temperature after a scorching morning.
Following a cloudy start to the day, with oppressive humidity prevailing, the capital experienced a gradual increase in cloud cover as the morning progressed.
By mid-afternoon, around 2:30pm, the skies darkened, and by 2:45pm, light rainfall accompanied by brisk winds descended upon Dhaka. While the rain brought relief from the heat, it also caused inconvenience for some navigating the city streets.
Reports of rainfall came in from various areas across Dhaka, including Sukrabad, Zigatola, Panthapath, Moghbazar, Old Dhaka, Motijheel, Kakrail, Puran Paltan, Shantinagar, and Malibagh.
For those observing Ramadan, the rain served as a welcome blessing, providing a refreshing break from the stifling heat and humidity that had prevailed earlier in the day.
