The Bangladesh Meteorological Department issued a warning on Sunday, stating that a mild heat wave is currently sweeping through Chittagong, Rangamati, and Cox’s Bazar districts, with the possibility of continuation.
According to a bulletin from the Met office, there is a likelihood of rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds in one or two places over the Khulna division within the next 24 hours, starting from 9 am on Sunday. The bulletin also mentioned a slight rise in both day and night temperatures across the country during this period.
For the next three days, the weather is expected to remain predominantly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies across the country, as stated in the bulletin. However, rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are predicted in one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal divisions, as well as the regions of Noakhali and Comilla.
On Saturday, Cox’s Bazar recorded the country’s highest temperature at 37.1 degrees Celsius, indicating the severity of the ongoing heat wave.
