In a heartwarming gesture, the Green View Golf Resort has contributed to the wildlife conservation efforts at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park in Sreepur, Gazipur, by gifting 50 Chitra deer. The transfer, facilitated by the Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Division, was made possible at no cost to the safari park.
Of the 50 deer presented, 22 are adult deer, and 28 are adorable fawns. Dhaka Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Sharmin Akter graciously received the deer on behalf of the safari park.
This generous donation, valued at approximately Tk1 crore, comes as a result of a formal application submitted by the Green View Golf Resort on August 24 last year. The Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Division granted the necessary permission in September of the same year.
Bulbul Islam, the land advisor of Green View Golf Resort, emphasized the importance of this contribution, stating, “Many will be encouraged through this gesture. Deer reproduction takes place rapidly with proper care and a favorable environment. Given the increasing number of visitors to the safari park, we decided to provide 50 deer of different sizes.”
The official further added that the grandsons of Fakir Monizzaman, the resort’s Managing Director, conveyed the deer to the safari park on behalf of their grandfather.
Rafiqul Islam, the officer-in-charge of the park, explained the positive impact on the deer, saying, “The wider space in the safari park will reduce the risk of diseases among the animals. After a 15-day quarantine period, during which their health will be monitored, the deer will be released into their enclosure.”
DFO Sharmin Akhter commended the resort’s initiative, highlighting the importance of such collaborations. “Deer, being fast-breeding animals, will now freely roam the safari park, providing an enriching experience for visitors. This act of generosity by Green View Golf Resort sets an excellent precedent for other institutions to follow,” she said.
