Biman Bangladesh Airlines is poised to revolutionize ground handling services at the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, according to Managing Director and CEO Shafiul Azim. Speaking at a program unveiling new ground support equipment and vehicles on Monday, Azim highlighted Biman’s readiness and enhanced capacity for ground handling services.
To bolster its capabilities, the national flag carrier has invested in a substantial number of essential equipment and expanded its workforce by recruiting approximately 1,000 personnel. Azim officially commissioned 18 brand-new Japanese-made aircraft cargo/baggage tow-tractors, along with two state-of-the-art aircraft push-back tow-tractors and VIP sedan cars for passenger transportation.
Executive Director of HSIA, Group Captain Mohammad Kamrul Islam, along with Biman directors and officials, were present at the event. Biman’s Motor Transport Division revealed that the addition of 18 new aircraft cargo/baggage tow-tractors from Japan’s Toyota Tsusho Corporation and advanced aircraft push-back tow-tractors from GSE manufacturer TLD France will significantly enhance ground handling operations.
The strategic expansion aims to ensure on-time flight departures and elevate the overall efficiency of ground handling services. As Biman Bangladesh Airlines continues to invest in cutting-edge equipment and personnel, its commitment to providing top-notch ground handling services at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport remains unwavering.
