The commencement of the holy month of Ramadan in Bangladesh has been confirmed for Tuesday, following a decision made at a meeting of the National Moon-Sighting Committee. Religious Affairs Minister Md Faridul Haque Khan presided over the gathering held at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on Monday.
Muslims will observe the first Taraweeh prayer on Monday night, with sehri scheduled in the early hours of Tuesday. The holy Shab-e-Qadr or Lailatul Qadr, marking the night when the first verses of the holy Quran were revealed to Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), is set to be observed on the night of April 6.
