In an important update, it has been confirmed that the metro rail service will be temporarily halted on the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, with no operations on the festive day, following the established tradition.
MAN Siddique, the Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), shared this information during a press conference held at DMTCL’s meeting room in the capital on Sunday afternoon.
While there won’t be any changes in the metro rail movement timings for the first 15 days of Ramadan, a notable adjustment is scheduled for the last 15 days. During this period, the operating time of the metro trains will be extended by one hour from both ends.
In the last 15 days of Ramadan, the last metro train departing from Uttara is set for 9:20 pm, and the final train from Motijheel to Uttara will commence at 9:40 pm. However, the morning train departure times will remain unaffected.
This announcement aims to accommodate the festive and Ramadan schedules for commuters, providing convenient transportation options during this holy month and on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
