In a bid to provide affordable essentials during Ramadan, the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock is launching 30 sale points across the capital, offering discounted prices on milk, eggs, meat, and fish throughout the holy month.
As part of the initiative, liquid milk will be available at Tk80 per liter, beef at Tk600 per kg, mutton at Tk900 per kg, dressed broiler at Tk250 per kg, and eggs at Tk9.17.
Minister Md. Abdur Rahman made this announcement at the conference room of the Department of Livestock Services on Sunday, emphasizing the program’s scope from the first to the 28th day of Ramadan at 25 locations in the capital. Additionally, five permanent markets in the city will host these affordable sale points.
The designated sale centers include prominent locations like Natun Bazar (Badda), Khamarbari (Farmgate), Japan Garden City (Mohammadpur), Jatrabari, and many more. The initiative aims to make essential items accessible to citizens, with well-equipped pickup cool vans ensuring timely and convenient distribution.
Moreover, the Department of Fisheries is joining the effort by designating spots for fish sales at eight locations under Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation. The sale will run from 10 am to 3 pm every day, starting from March 11 and continuing for 15 days.
With a commitment to facilitating affordable access to essential food items during Ramadan, this initiative seeks to ease the burden on citizens and contribute to a more accessible and inclusive Ramadan experience.
